Display Case for LEGO® BMW M 1000 RR (42130)

This is the ninth Wicked Brick display case I have built, and it, like the others, does not disappoint. Though it is the only one that has NOT shipped with the magnetic data plate, it makes judicious use of the Lego-supplied data panel instead. As usual, the adhesive background sticker requires care and patience to apply, but the result is fabulous. I also built the Yamaha MT-10 SP case, which has the vinyl background panel already in place, making it a bit easier.

The case itself is great and shows off the bike very well. It's accurately made and easy to assemble.

My wife suggested that the bike should face the other way (into our room), which was easily achieved by pushing the magnets out of the inner base plate, and inserting them the other way up so the inner base plate could be placed upside down so the bike stand faces in the opposite direction.

I also have the Apollo Lunar Lander case. The M 1000 RR case is better in that the sides of the case are held at the bottom (and middle), which makes lining up the sides with the base less fiddly than the Apollo case.

My only slight niggle is that I found it very hard to accurately position the self adhesive background picture on the back panel. In part this is because the picture and panel are unavoidably large. But the main problem was that the adhesive is very strong, making it difficult to reposition the picture, and also making it hard to persuade air bubbles to go to the edge and out.

This is an excellent case, I'm super happy with it. It is nice and air-tight, so I don't have to worry about dust at all, and it displays great. The case originally came cracked from the shipping, and when I reached out to Wicked Brick customer service, they shipped new replacement parts out extremely fast for me. They've made a customer for life out of me.

Not only does the display case look awesome it keeps dust of intricate models like this.

The assembly is easy to assemble and preserves well from the outside dust the model presented.

My negative point is the lack of communication on the follow-up order (even after the time announced on the site). It was necessary to re-raise for information.
