As always, build quality is exceptional for the price and all the cases I own look fantastic.
The Perspex pieces for the stand holding the model inside the case can be stiff when slotting into the base plate. However, this is absolutely how you want it, with no slack, so it is extremely sturdy when holding the Lego model. Just be patient and apply even pressure.
The outer case shell has been cut with extreme precision and the slots between each plate fit together perfectly with a clean edge all round. The metal cubes with screws holding it together are neat, non-obtrusive and very sturdy. The case shell just sits on top of the base plate so you can easily lift it off if you need to move everything. Remember, it is Perspex though, NOT glass. Don’t lean on it or put items on top of the case as it will bow slightly (particularly larger cases like this) and wobble if you knock the case (the price for being able to easily lift the shell off the base and move it around). The holes in the base plate the shell slot into are a bit loose for my liking. It does make it easy to lift on and off, but if they were a bit tighter perhaps it would wobble a bit less when knocked.
One criticism - the background prints are great quality and look fantastic. However, they are applied to the back (outside) of the case. This does give a nice sheen when viewing the model as the image is covered by the Perspex, but the back is not protected at all. If you knock the back you can easily scratch holes into the image. It would be far better if WickedBricks applied a coating or protective film of some kind to protect the image once applied. ———— PLEASE CONSIDER DOING THIS!!!
Customer service is fantastic, always helping out if I have an issue. Occasionally there might be a missing stud for figures, but they usually come with spare studs now anyway and have always sent out more if needed. Just check it all over when received.
Packaging is exceptional. Huge amounts of bubble wrap around and between sheets to protect from scratches. Small parts are taped down so they don’t move and the entire case is then protected by foam bands clipped to all sides, with paper filler and a sturdy cardboard box.
Can’t recommend these cases enough :)
