LEGO Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion (76294) Review – Mutatis, Mutandis

For fans of the X-Men and LEGO, it’s honestly a wonder that LEGO’s version of the iconic X-Mansion has taken this long to become a reality. It’s clear that the brick-rendition of Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters is a substantially-sized set, but did it take us by Storm? Let’s find out!

The Build Experience

We’ll open with a warning: constructing the X-Mansion is only suited to those with both the confidence and time required to build this Colossus of a set. If you have the time and patience though, the build is a rewarding process filled with intricate details in every room that necessitate clever building techniques.

Once built, the modular design allows for easy access to interior rooms, each packed with nods to X-Men lore (you can even recreate the sad Wolverine meme, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to hurt him again). From Cerebro’s chamber to the classrooms and living quarters, every section is thoughtfully designed.

One of the standout aspects of this set is the inclusion of a host of minifigures, many of which are first of their kind. Fans will be delighted to find Wolverine, Professor X, Cyclops, Storm, and more, each with detailed printing and accessories.

Display & Features

The finished model is a sight to behold. The mansion itself is nothing short of magnificent and would make for an impressive centerpiece in any LEGO collection. The modular sections allow for different display configurations, giving fans flexibility in how they showcase their favorite scenes.

Interactive elements such as opening doors, hidden compartments, and action-packed battle features enhance the playability. While this set is designed to be displayed, the dynamic nature of the X-Men alongside the interactivity of the X-Mansion’s rooms and interactive elements allows for the set to serve as a fantastic playset too.

Final Verdict

The LEGO Marvel: The X-Mansion (76294) is an absolute win for both X-Men and LEGO enthusiasts. With its detailed design, impressive minifigure selection, and interactive features, it captures the essence of Xavier’s school in a way that few sets could. Whether for play or display, this set is an essential addition to any Marvel collection.
